Shopping for different ingredients, keeping costs low, chopping, and preparing, while at the same time storing in an efficient manner take a lot of balancing. On top of this, I handle several different palettes and nutrition needs.Kelly Guertinhttp://blog.bellanimaternity.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4335195386983113566.post-46688445670104041932009-09-19T18:44:20.513-07:002009-09-19T18:44:20.513-07:00I also tweeted!

Especially my husband - he's the pickiest of all, and there's very little I can do about it. I'm starting to try harder with the kids, but I find that the more busy and stressed out I am, the harder it is to get motivated to even try feeding everyone healthier. I have a 7 month old son who loves Earth's Best 2nd Stage foods. I would love to find yogurt melts in an organic brand as he loves to self-feed and for some reason puffs don't agree with him. As for us parents, we are trying to incorporate more raw foods into our diets!Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06216716472447191530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4335195386983113566.post-32340121639917106222009-09-16T21:27:31.736-07:002009-09-16T21:27:31.736-07:00I don't know if you get extra entries for foll...I don't know if you get extra entries for following and such, but I'm doing it now if I haven't already...

tata! & see you on twitter!Sprittibeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07992769339576987845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4335195386983113566.post-39103980731602030172009-09-16T21:25:44.603-07:002009-09-16T21:25:44.603-07:00I'm just short of a lot of things for typeamom...I'm just short of a lot of things for typeamom... money being the biggest of them.

Here's my answer - cuz a free ticket would knock 100$ off of my 600$ that I have to earn...

Your QUESTION:
**“Your greatest challenge/s to feeding your family in a healthy way?” OR “What are tips and tricks you use to get your family to eat well?” Share with me how you do it, what you dread, what frustrates you, your successes, throw out some questions as well. **

We have 2 eateries going on here... the mama's milk eatery and the rest of the family. Since I make my own baby food (just call me Bessie), the baby eats very healthy. He gets a jar or two of baby food in there now and then, too - but he prefers his milk to any other food source. My main trouble with keeping him fed well is just remembering to DRINK A TON OF WATER.

As for the rest of us - the main hindrance to eating more healthy are: 1. laziness (if you don't plan ahead you end up in the drive thru lane), 2. money (what's with the cost of groceries these days? I'd rather buy organic, but MAN - I can hardly get outa the store with my arm and leg), and 3. junk-food cravings (we have GOT to give up the Coke and sweets before we all end up with broken pancreases).

I've written about this challenge many times over the years I have blogged.

I have written about this on my food blog (Gathering Manna), which is different from my 'real' blog (Sprittibee)...

The Thrifty Kitchen Challenge

...and of course... everybody has to throw out those New Years Resolutions (and then struggle and fail to keep them, unfortunately):

A Healthier '08

We're making an effort to cook more from scratch and eat more raw foods... and I'm getting to the point where we really are going to have to quit the sugar overdose. You don't think about all the sugar you take in until you really write it down... sweet tea, sweet coffee, juice, carbs in your breads - crackers - fruits - veggies - cereals, added sugar in the hidden ingredients, etc. That's not even including the desserts and sodas! Man, alive.

Now I've written a book. That's gotta count for somethin'.

Send me to NC, baby. If not, I'll have to wait until Blissdom or something. That 'I Heart Faces' conference sounds pretty groovy, too.

;) Hasta la pasta!

SprittibeeSprittibeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07992769339576987845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4335195386983113566.post-46170268877653172942009-09-16T21:10:00.108-07:002009-09-16T21:10:00.108-07:00Surprisingly enough it is not feeding son healthil...Surprisingly enough it is not feeding son healthily food that is the challenge but feeding my husband and I is. They love the "experience".

For variety in meals, I try to prep things ahead of time - I realize that simple things make a big difference to the kids - they love the smell of fresh spices like basil and such. We try to involve the kids in some of the food preparation - they are just 3 and 2 but it works quite a bit!thinkmayahttp://twitter.com/thinkmayanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4335195386983113566.post-3130868939257009272009-09-16T19:19:07.662-07:002009-09-16T19:19:07.662-07:00hi Jenn, have fun I am not entering but you will l...hi Jenn, have fun I am not entering but you will love Asheville its beautifulchow and chatterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04225995063075911644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4335195386983113566.post-56646084815097069672009-09-16T18:56:08.213-07:002009-09-16T18:56:08.213-07:00I follow youon twitter.(donnak4)
